Velvet Underground Tattoo is the UK’s only all female tattoo studio. Led by the outrageously talented Roxy, the team create unbelievable tattoos in an environment that feels welcoming to the customer and supportive to all the incredible artists that work there.
The aim of our film was to capture a small slice of the talented team and their badass boss in action, capturing some of the comradery, craft, and pedal to the metal that makes Velvet Underground such an incredible studio.
CREATIVe
We wanted to show off as many of the talented artists and apprentices as we could, whilst showcasing Roxy at the heart of the studio. So we opted to shoot a loose narrative of Roxy’s journey to the studio on her custom bike, alongside punchy sequences of the artists at work.
We shot on 2 of our RED Cinema Camera’s with our unique vintage Canon FD lenses to achieve the look. Along side a variety of camera rigs and RGB lighting.
